Box Score

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Led by a junior Chelsea Woods' career-high 24 points, the Saint Joseph's women's basketball team topped host New Mexico, 79-67, in the consolation game of the University of New Mexico Thanksgiving Tournament on Saturday at The Pit.

Woods, who was named to the All-Tournament Team, finished with a 24-point, 10-rebound double-double as she went 9-of-12 from the field and 6-of-6 from the foul line.

Down by 17 early and 11 at the half, Saint Joseph's took momentum out of the halftime lockerroom and never looked back.

Using a 16-4 run to start the third quarter, the Hawks erased an 11-point deficit to take their first lead of the game, 44-43, on a floater by Alyssa Monaghan with 5:22 to go in the period.

New Mexico fought back with a 6-0 run to take a 49-44 lead just a minute later, but Saint Joseph's ended the quarter on a 10-0 spurt as Woods scored four of her game-high 24 points in the final moments.

Saint Joseph's saw its lead cut to three three times, but would not allow the Lobos to get any closer. Ahead 61-58, the Hawks used a 12-1 run midway through the final quarter to help seal the victory.

For the game, Saint Joseph's finished 31-of-65 from the floor (47.7 percent), including 30-of-49 (61.2 percent) over the final three quarters.
