JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Senior hurdler Dannah Hayward capped an outstanding outdoor season at the 2016 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field East Preliminaries on Thursday afternoon, hosted by the University of North Florida at Hodges Stadium Track and Field Facility.

Hayward cruised through the 400m hurdles in 1:00.85 to finish 40th in a field of the event's top 48 competitors east of the Mississippi River. Hayward entered the event's first round ranked 47th with her school-record seed time of 1:00.04.

The senior closed the outdoor season with four consecutive sub-1:01 performances, going 1:00.04 at the Atlantic 10 Championships, 1:00.47 and 1:00.43 in the preliminaries and finals of the ECAC Championships, and 1:00.85 this afternoon.

After redshirting the 2013-14 seasons, Hayward will return to both the indoor and outdoor track for her final year of eligibility in 2016-17.

Sophomore Claudine Andre will compete in the first round of the high jump tomorrow, May 27 at 5:00 p.m.
