STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Senior Torey Doaty turned in a runner-up, IC4A-qualifying performance in the 400m to lead the Saint Joseph's men's track and field squad at the unscored Fastrack National Invitational, held at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Friday afternoon. Doaty, sophomore Dylan Eddinger, and senior Jimmy Daniels recorded IC4A-qualifying performances for the Crimson and Gray. 

Doaty checked in with a season-best 400m time of 49.03 (actual 49.028), finishing just behind Fairleigh Dickinson's Kazeem Otun's 49.03 (actual 49.025) for the runner-up finish in the field of 44. 

Eddinger went sub-2:00 in the 800m for the first time this season to earn his IC4A-qualifying time of 1:53.88, which was good for 12th in the field of 64. 

Entering his final indoor season, Daniels' collegiate-best 3000m PR stood at 8:45.43, set as a freshman. The senior opened this year by crushing that time in 8:36.23 at Ocean Breeze back on January 6. He then ran an 8:38.03 at Ocean Breeze on January 21. 

On Friday evening, he dropped his 3k time to a new collegiate-best 8:21.90 to earn IC4A qualification and a 17th-place showing in a field of 56. 

Junior Kenny Evely added an exceptional performance in the 400m, clocking in at 49.63 for eighth overall. 

Freshman Josh Clark once again dropped his mile time, crossing in a season-best 4:17.34 for 24th in a field of 52. 

The Hawks return to action at the Monmouth Winter Invitational at Monmouth's OceanFirst Bank Center on Saturday, February 11.

The 2017 Atlantic 10 Indoor Track and Field Championships run next weekend, from Saturday, February 18 through Sunday, February 19 in Fairfax, Va.
