‹ This is the first meeting of the schools since the 1994-95 season and the first-ever between coach Phil Martelli and WVU's Bob Huggins, who have a combined 61 years as head coaches
‹ The Hawks now own an 8-10 record in early-season tournaments over the past five years. Last season SJU participated in the Wooden Legacy in Fullerton, Calif., and in 2016-17, was at the Paradise Jam in St. Thomas, V.I.

Charlie Brown, Jr. eclipsed his career-high for the second time this season when he poured in 28 points against UCF
• He scored 26 vs. Wake Forest to better his career-high of 22 set vs. Fordham during the 2016-17 season

TAYLOR'S THREE'S
• Sophomore Taylor Funk now has 98 three-pointers in the 36 games of his career thus far
• He set the SJU freshman record last season when he made 84 in 32 games
• Funk was 4-for-4 from beyond the arc against UCF after going 6-for-7 against Wake Forest
• On the season, he's making 58.3 percent of his long-range attempts

OFF BALANCE
• Against UCF, the Hawks didn't get much scoring from players not named Charlie Brown and Taylor Funk as the duo combined for 44 of 57 points
• In fact, only three other players were in the scoring column - Jared Bynum (6 pts), Anthony Longpré (6) and Pierfrancesco Oliva (1)

STREAK ENDER
Lamarr Kimble went scoreless against UCF, ending his 12-game double-figure scoring streak that dated back to the 2016-17 season
• It was also only the fifth time in the 65 games of his career that he was without a point

20/20/20
Charlie Brown, Jr., has wasted no time making an impact as he has scored 20-plus points in all four games this year
• Brown set a new career-high with 26 in the Wake Forest win, scoring 17 in the second half
• The redshirt sophomore had another big half earlier this week when he scored 19 points in the second half vs. Monmouth
• He bettered the mark with 28 points in the loss to UCF

GIVING IT AWAY
• The UCF loss marked the first time this season the Hawks committed double-digit turnovers when they had 11
• The lowest total of the season was six against Monmouth

• The Hawks are 4-12 against ranked teams over the past four seasons
• SJU's last win over a Top 25 squad came on February 27, 2018 at Rhode Island when the Hawks posted a dominating 78-48 win over the #17 Rams
