PHILADELPHIA – Rosemary Esquivel and Charlotte Kordonowy won their third straight No. 1 doubles match together as the USciences women's tennis team hosted District of Columbia in non-conference play at the Hecht Center on Sunday.
The pair improved to a team-best 4-1 on the season with a 6-3 decision.
District of Columbia won their other two doubles matches though, before sweeping singles play.
Esquivel lost in three sets for the third time in four matches, falling just short once again, 1-6, 7-5, 6-3, at the third flight.
Stephanie Mazurek also was narrowly defeated, losing two tiebreakers at No. 4 singles.
University of the Sciences returns to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action on Wednesday, hosting Chestnut Hill for its fall home-finale at 6 p.m.
