THE TIP-OFF
• Saint Joseph's caps its season-opening four-game homestand this Saturday as it hosts Monmouth at noon.
• The Hawks and Monmouth are the opening game of a doubleheader on Saturday, with the Saint Joseph's women's team hosting Villanova at 3 p.m.
• St. Joe's is looking to bounce back after dropping a thriller to Drexel, 78-75, on Wednesday.
• Jordan Hall finished with a team-high 20 points, seven rebounds, and six assists versus the Dragons.
Taylor Funk continued his strong offensive start to the season as he went 6-of-12 from the floor, 3-of-5 from three-point range, and 3-of-3 from the foul line for 18 points.
• Rookie Erik Reynolds II finished in double figures for the second straight game as he scored 13 points against Drexel.
• Funk enters Saturday fourth nationally in three-pointers per game (4.33), and 38th in three-point percentage (.565).
• Hall currently ranks 14th nationally in assists per game at 6.3 per contest.
• The Hawks have averaged 31.0 points in the paint over the past two games.

SAINT JOSEPH'S VERSUS MONMOUTH
Despite less than 85 miles between the two campuses, Saint Joseph's and Monmouth meet for just the third time ever on Saturday as the two teams enter the contest tied at 1-1 in the all-time series.
• In the last meeting, Charlie Brown, Jr. scored 19 of his game-high 21 points in the second half as Saint Joseph's pulled away from Monmouth, 78-63, at Hagan Arena for its second win of the 2018-19 season.
• Monmouth topped Saint Joseph's in the fourth-place game of the Wyoming Cowboy Shootout, 71-62, on November 28, 1994.

FANSGIVING FOOD DRIVE
Saint Joseph's is partnering with Philabundance for a Fansgiving Food Drive during Saturday's doubleheader. Fans who donate any non-perishable food items will be entered to win two tickets to the Hawks' home contest versus Temple on Saturday, December 11 at 1 p.m. The winner will be announced during halftime of Saturday's SJU women's game, and must be in attendance to redeem their prize.

STUDENT BASKETBALL BBQ SATURDAY
Hawk Hill Productions, and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, are sponsoring the Student Basketball BBQ on Saturday. All Saint Joseph's students are invited to enjoy free food, games, and more prior to the game. Free t-shirts will be available while supplies last, and students will have the opportunity to enter to win exclusive prizes. Prizes will be announced during halftime of the Saturday's women's basketball game.

CONNECTING FROM DEEP
Saint Joseph's has opened the season with strong performances from distance as it enters Saturday averaging 8.7 three-pointers per game. Through three contests, the Hawks have connected on double-digit three-pointers twice, and are 26-of-68 overall from behind the arc.

HAWKS INK WINBORNE AND FLEMING
Saint Joseph's head coach Billy Lange announced guard Christian Winborne (Baltimore, Md./Gilman School) and forward Rasheer Fleming (Camden, N.J./Camden) have signed a national letters of intent to attend Saint Joseph's University in the fall of 2022. A 6-foot-2 guard, Winborne is coming off a tremendous junior season at the Gilman School in which he averaged 22.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game. The top-ranked point guard in Maryland, and 35th ranked point guard nationally by 247 Sports, Winborne also competed for Will Barton's Team Thrill on the UAA circuit. Along with being a standout student-athlete on the court, Winborne has excelled in the classroom as the honor roll student boasts a 4.0 grade point average. A 6-foot-9 forward, Fleming enters his senior year with nationally-ranked Camden High School having averaged 9.5 points and 8.3 rebounds per game over 67 career contests. As a sophomore, Fleming averaged 13.7 points and 10.9 rebounds per game, before playing in a COVID-shortened season last year. Additionally, he has competed on the prestigious Nike EYBL circuit with the New Jersey Scholars.

NEXT UP
The Hawks head west as they compete in the Paycom Wooden Legacy over the Thanksgiving holiday. Saint Joseph's opens the tournament versus #25 USC on Thursday evening at 9:30 p.m. ET, and will face either Georgetown or San Diego State on Friday.
