MONSEY, N.Y. – The USciences women's tennis team swept Dominican, without dropping a set, in its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opener on Saturday afternoon, giving new Head Coach Duncan Henderson MB'17 his first career victory in his first match at the helm.
The Devils lost just two games in doubles play before going on to win all 12 singles sets.
Charlotte Kordonowy, Rosemary Esquivel, Myra Anwar, Myka Williams and Stephanie Mazurek all won in both singles and doubles play.
Mazurek, a winner at No. 6 singles, also partnered with Han Le for a 6-1 at third-flight doubles, giving the senior her 26th career doubles victory to move into seventh in program history.
Kirsten Wijnsema won at No. 1 singles, as both her and Kordonowy won their first career collegiate singles dual matches.
Kordonowy and Esquivel, who won at No. 3 singles, were victorious at first-flight doubles in their first-ever match together, while Anwar and Williams, who won at No. 4 and No. 5 singles respectively, teamed for the victory at second-flight doubles in their first-ever pairing together.
University of the Sciences hosts Wilmington in its 2021 home-opener this Wednesday at 6 p.m.
