Behind the stellar pitching of Cognigni and the hot bats of senior Rachel Pawlikowski (Wilmington DE/Ursuline Academy) (2-for-4) and sophomore Sarah Falk (Coatesville, PA/ Bishop Shanaha ) (3-for-4), the Hawks earned the 7-0 win.
In the nightcap of its doubleheader with Robert Morris, Saint Joseph's jumped out to a 4-0 lead, but it wasn't enough as Colonials rallied for eight runs over the final three innings to down the Hawks 8-4. SJU freshman Brooke Darreff (Hartsville, PA/Central Bucks South) finished the game 2-for-3 to lead the Hawks' offense.
On Tuesday, Saint Joseph's dropped a doubleheader to Michigan State. In the opener, the Hawks fell 9-0, while they dropped the second 8-0.
