PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team saw its seven-game unbeaten streak snapped Wednesday evening as the Hawks fell at Penn, 4-2. The Hawks twice fought back to tie the game, but the Quakers added a pair of late goals to pull away.

Penn got on the board first as Sarah Friedman beat SJU freshman goalkeeper Cara Critchlow on a free kick from about 30 yards out at the 9:18 mark.

The Hawks tied the score less than 10 minutes late as freshman Jen Pfeiffer scored her team-leading seventh goal of the season off a pass from junior Danielle Debernardo. Pfeiffer got the ball inside the box and lifted a shot past Penn goalkeeper Sara Rose to tie the score at 19:00.

The Quakers took the lead just :14 seconds before the half as Natalie Capuano took a corner kick from Friedman inside the box and found the back of the net to put Penn up 2-1.

It took just over five minutes into the second half for the Hawks to tie the score at 2-2. Freshman Maggie Lupinski took a centering pass from the left side from classmate Kortney Rhoades and found the back of the net at 50:06.

Unfortunately for Saint Joseph's, the Quakers took the lead for good on a breakaway goal by Molly Weir at the 66:28 mark, with Ursula Lopez-Palm adding an insurance goal with 8:00 remaining in the game.

Saint Joseph's returns to action this Sunday at city-rival Temple. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
