The Saint Joseph's men's track team competed in the Princeton New Year's Invitational on Saturday at Jadwin Gymnasium. Senior Luke Fischer paced the Hawks with a win in the mile.
Fischer ran the mile in 4:21.04 to take first while Logan Hohs trailed in fourth (4:28.29) and Dave Manion in fifth (4:28.36).
The 4x400-meter relay squad of David Smith, Derrick Henry, Garrett Barbalinardo, and Jared Sabre had a second-place showing with a time of 3:21.28.
Henry was also the Hawks' top finisher in the 600-meter event with a fourth-place finish in a time of 1:23.00.
Tom DiNatale led in two events with a sixth-place finish in the 300-meter dash (35.90) and finished the 60-meter dash in 7.26 seconds (14th).
Jesse Brooks took sixth in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:38.26 while in the long jump Michael Yap had a mark of 18'11 3/4".
The squad competes next on January 7-8, at Delaware on Friday and at the Penn State Relays on Saturday.
