The Saint Joseph's men's track team took first at Delaware on Saturday and competed in the Penn State Nationals on Friday and Saturday. Kevin McDonnell led SJU at Penn State with a fourth place finish in the 5,000 meter run.
McDonnell finished with a season-best and IC4A qualifying time of 14:22.58, while Kyle Murray also had a qualifying time, finishing 10th in 14:46.78.
In the 500 meter at Penn State, Jared Sabre took sixth with a qualifying time of 1:04.92 while Garrett Barbalinardo finished first in his heat and placed 16th overall (1:05.98).
Logan Hohs and Jesse Brooks also competed at Penn State in the 1,000 meter run, finishing fifth (2:31.75) and ninth (2:36.96), respectively.
At Delaware the Hawks won 11 events, including the 4x800 meter relay (8:12.40) and the 4x400 in 3:29.25.
In jumps, John DiPersio took first (39'6") in the long jump while Victor DiNoia placed first in the triple jump (20'2 _").
Drew Brandt came in at 51.80 for a first place finish in the 400m and Dylan Wenik had a time of 1:08.21 for a win in the 500m while Ian O'Hara took first in the 800m (2:03.62) and Luke Fischer won the mile (4:28.19).
Jonathan Sclafani won the 3,000 meter run and Vinnie Nicastro finished in 15:41.09 for a first place finish in the 5,000m.
The Hawks compete again on Friday at Yale and Saturday at Yale and Haverford.
