MERION STATION, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's baseball team fell to Saint Louis, 10-0, in the series finale between the two teams at Smithson Field on Sunday afternoon.
Saint Louis (15-7 overall, 3-0 Atlantic 10) jumped in front early, taking a 2-0 lead in the top of the first on a double by Parker Sniatynski and a groundout by Jake Garella. The Billikens tacked on one in the second on a sacrifice fly by Griffin Robinson and two more in the third on a single by Nick Reeser.
The Billikens broke the game open in the sixth on an RBI single by Alex King and a two-run triple by Garella.
Saint Joseph's (8-11 overall, 0-3 Atlantic 10) had a chance to get back into it in the bottom of the inning as the Hawks collected three hits in the frame, but an outfield assist from center fielder Aaron Case and a pair of strikeouts by reliever Aaron Patton stranded the bases loaded.
SLU added one in the eighth on a single by Garella and one in the ninth on a fielder's choice by Braxton Stowe.
Drew Reveno allowed one hit and four walks in five innings to earn the win, while Justin Aungst was charged with five runs in three innings to take the loss.
The Hawks will step out of conference play on Tuesday when they visit Penn in a Liberty Bell Classic quarterfinal matchup.
