New York, N.Y. - The Saint Joseph's men's track team competed in the New York City Gotham Cup at the Armory Track and Field Center on Friday evening. Three Hawks recorded personal bests and finished in the top four.

Jon Mazzio took third in the unseeded mile with a personal-best 4:20.99 while freshman Aaron Leskow competed in the seeded mile and placed 11th in 4:21.58.

Jared Sabre finished fourth in the 400 meter dash with a personal-best 49.57 seconds and helped the 4x400 squad of Derrick Henry, Tom DiNatale, and David Smith to a fourth-place finish (3:20.01).

In the 5,000 meter run Vince Collins recorded a personal-best time of 14:57.48 to take fourth place.

Luke Fischer placed third in the 1,000 meter run in 2:30.20 and ran the last leg in the 4x800 meter relay to help the squad record a season-best time of 7:58.92.

Garrett Barbalinardo finished the seeded 800 meter with a personal record time of 1:58.63 to take 11th place.

In the long jump Michael Yap recorded a season-best mark of 19'2 3/4" for a sixth-place finish.

The Hawks return to action on Saturday when they compete in the Princeton Relays.
